Our Support Efforts

The Shrine was founded in 1872. Its members decided to dedicate their efforts to helping others by establishing an official Shrine Philanthropy — a network of 22 specialized hospitals that have provided expert medical care to more than 1,000,000 children, free of charge.

Murat Shrine Members in Indianapolis, the largest Shrine Chapter, support those efforts in Chicago, Illinois; Cincinnati, Ohio and Lexington, Kentucky. We operate a fleet of vans transporting patients and parents to our hospitals. Like hospital care, transportation is free of charge. The Murat Shrine Corvette Club supports Murat's Transportation Unit through financial donations.
